“The Church” summer sermon series begins this Sunday

 

Christ promised to build His church before He went to His cross (Matthew 16:18). The church was born at Pentecost (Acts 2:1-41), is made up of the people of God who have been redeemed by Christ (1 Cor 15:20-23) into the kingdom of God, in union with Christ and one another through the fellowship of the Holy Spirit through all eternity. The Church is Christ’s body. What a mystery!

God’s plan for the church is worship of Him (Eph 1:12), for building up believers to maturity in Christ (Col 1:28) and proclaiming the gospel to make disciples among all peoples of the world (Matt 28:19-20). What a privilege!
